Ending an ill-advised adventure, an Asian ground war is a classic and cliched mistake. Most especially into Afghanistan. Even Russia, a next door neighbor and not expecially inclined to respect non-combatants, couldn't dominate the tribal warlords that are the source of political power in Afghanistan.

You allege Trump had a plan? From day one of his campaign he advocated leaving Afghanistan. He did not act on that promise, I doubt that he has any plan whatsoever.

As to leaving equipment behind- who cares? All the hardware America buys is expendable, the troops come first. I'm glad the US is out of Afghanistan. Any country that relied on America after Trump denied the importance of NATO(!!!!!) was blind to the reality of increasing American isolationism.

As to the 2020 election, the overwhelming majority of America wanted Trump gone, G-O-N-E. But, in retrospect, the failures of the present POTUS are magnified in comparison to those past, which we survived if not triumphed.

Trump will be back in 2024 to ensure another Democratic presidency by splitting the Republican party. There is no 'loyal opposition' in Trump's personality, he DGAF about anything but his own success.
