I learned something today- Trump is not a fascist. He believes in ochlocracy: mob rule. The last man standing, in power, wins.

Trump could be a fascist, he often uses fascist techniques. He's too lazy and self-serving to adapt to any political philosophy or party to achieve his ends. Direct mob rule is much more effective.

And why should he? January 6 has proven that he can motivate violent mobs to attack our historic national institutions? He loses an election? No matter, he doesn't subscribe to American philosophical principles and faith in the voice of the people expressed through elections.

Look at the TrumpeRINO posts on this forum: they relate the fact that the 'Base' exists and can be directed by The Dear Leader as evidence- or threat- of their power in America.

According to Gallup, as of 17 December 2020-

"31% of Americans identified as Democrats, 25% identified as Republican, and 41% as Independent."

A quantifiable and self identified minority, of whom a small portion support Trump over the GOP:

"According to a new NBC News poll, 44% of Republicans say they support the former president more than they support the Republican Party. That is a decline from 50% and the first time since July 2019 that party supporters outnumbered Trump supporters."

America and Americans tried Trumpism. The result was the rare incumbent POTUS who lost reelection. Trump's 2016 46.1% of the popular vote increased to 2020's 46.9%, in which Hillary Clinton outpolled him at 48.2% of the popular vote in 2016.

As the quote attributed to Lindsey Graham has it "You f**ked up your presidency". Trump effectively elected Biden by turning America against him.

The French Revolution and 'The  Reign of Terror' are models of Trump political technique.
