Someone in his 80s, with Leukemia, is still very succeptible to a covid breakthrough infection even if vaccinated.
Here are the statistics
An adult in his 80s vaccinated has as much protection as a non-vaccinated adult below 60.
Add a pre-exisitng condition like Leukemia and the chance of dying goes up even more
