Meghan McCain turned the tables on Donald Trump on Friday, thanking him for his furious attack calling her a 'lowlife' after she had called his daughter and husband 'funeral crashers' in her new audio memoir.

'I’d like to thank former President Trump for encouraging everyone to buy my Audible book Bad Republican where they can hear my story in my words,' she said. 

The exchanges are the latest instalment in a bitter family feud that saw Trump repeatedly ridicule McCain's father, John McCain, the six-term Republican senator and two-time presidential candidate who died in 2018.

 In her memoir, the DailyMail.com columnist describes her horror at seeing Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared turn up at her father's funeral. 

'I remember seeing them and seeing her specifically,' she told Andy Cohen on 'Watch What Happens Live' this week.

'They had no God-damn business being there and it’s something that still angers me, clearly.'

But she also said she had been bullied out of her job on the ABC daytime show 'The View.'
