Fact: France has one of the best healthcare systems in the world, a single payer system, and their per-person cost is 50% of what we pay, yet they have as good if not better outcomes.

So many people are fed talking points about why single-payer is not a good thing -

The single most improtant reason single payer systems are so much more efficient is their negotioating power with the drug and device manufacturers. 

Now, on the other hand, we actually have reverse socialism in our country. The US pays a ton more for innovation [to the drug companies] so we fund innovation for the whole world.
