Most Americans are moderates. There is no significant number of extreme rightist or leftists in America as a whole. The issue is, as January 6 clearly showed, the issue is that they can, left and right, be motiviated to violence.

When I hear 'us and them' I know that that individual is either stupid or a demagogue bent on dividing,  controlling, directing a specific group to a hateful, selfish political purpose.

I don't know about Omar, Ocasio or Boebert; but M T Greene is from the part of Georgia in which the KKK reestablished itself and remains a silent but powerful political force. Just as Trump did, she represents a constituency that sees itself as constantly exploited and found a candidate to put a thumb in the political establishment's eye.
