My sympathies concerning your recent hacking.
I read your post, and Buddha's. I thought I'd like to share a personal story that happened to me years ago on the other site
The HAI convention was being held in Las Vegas, at least 15 years ago now. Some posters started talking about the polygamous compound in Colorado City.. making jokes etc. At the time I had an alter ego ( Shooting Snail) who was a mouthy little creature, he frequently let his shark-like butt exceed the limitations of his snail like ass .. but it was all in good fun, I thought, Shooting Shark would intervene and reign him in, when necessary.
Well, it seems the snail pissed off certain members of a certain religious sect, who clearly took exception to the snails comments. Soon they appeared as famous old west famous assassins who were, back in the 1800s known for their misdeeds vis a vis tgat religious sect. This was bait to the silly snail, which he swallowed hook line and sinker.
Wasnt all in good fun, for these people. They had had hackers who managed to get into my computer some how. A message appeared "so and so wants to access your computer ( accept / deny) " I would hit deny and keep postin. Message reappeared ( accept/ deny) I hit deny. This went on a few times until they had trained me to hit the button, then they reversed the choices: ( deny /accept) I inaderetantly hit ACCEPT(!!))
So thats how they got in apparently. Then I ( Shooting Shark) decided to make the snail go into "hiding"
I posted a comical message, saying as much ( dtill thinking this was just all in good fun)
They replied: "weve got his address-. You want it?"
Threat Received --Wanting to post my ID on JH? The message was clear. They were serious.
Ok so then I read about Ralph Naders "internet Freedom Foundation " and SLAPP suits. You see, annyone can sue anyone in Civil Court - but you need to know who they are, and have damages. That they threatened my anynomity on JH could be considered damages if there were probable relationships that showed my posting might affect my reputation and standing on the helicopter world, but that would be hard ( and expensive ) to prove. Meanwhile, my foolish posting could be construed as having damaged the members of this religious group in that same forum-/ something I never intended to do.
But it was a stand off. They had obtained my information illegally, and would have no standing filing a lawsuit in Federal Court without discovery, anfd to do that they would need to convince a Federal Judge that a "John Doe" anonymous poster needed to be identified - which wasn't gonna happen
Lynn started banning political posts after that and soon Netfriction appeared. Perhaps our Buddha found a place to let us all do our thing without interfering with a Helicopter Site, something I was happy to accommodate.
Since then, My Aquatic Domain ( Atlantis) has graced this site alone, and terrorized Libz for their all too familiar nonsense. It's still fun to visit, mostly because Buddha and Jetsheep at least actually seem to believe what they say here.. poster-boys for the political insanity and irrationality seen on the Left-- which itself is instructive.
As for Crowbot-. He's a paid shill. Ignore him. Not part of the old gang here anyway, showed up after Trump got elected as a DNC paid "internet influencer"- I suspect.
The other reason I post is because I find my fellow conservative often have insights you will never hear on MSM -/ and while Buddha has the Political IQ of a crustation ( no offense to crustations) he at least doesn't censor my Ivermection posts ( like Facebook would)! Even though he's a Useful idiot himself.
So my point is, you might have been hacked by some nefarious actor-- but Buddha wouldnt necessarily thing do with it. As for Content, it seems our Buddha has the extraordinary privilege of being a website owner, which exempts him from liability from the comments of postes undervthe "Internet Decency Act"
Which begs the question-- why does Facebook act as a censor?
Censoring content places website operators in the position of bein "punblishers" which carries liability
Answer-- Facebook is too big to be sued. Can't find a judge anywhere. (Imagine that!)
Justice, in Amerika is about "who can afford it"
And "Lawfare" SLAPP suits ( Strategic Litigation against Public Participation) are for those big corporations and religious organizations who can afford it too.
We are just "little fish"..
and so on this site, are our favorite
