Old guy, it sounds like you have held leadership positions in your life like I have.

A leader sets the tone and coordinates all the resources; that's why we have a federal government and agencies like the FDA, FCC, FAA, NTSB, etc. They're not perfect, but they do a good job considering beurocracy of organizations.

When a pandemic affects the nation, which it did and is, it is the responsibility of the federal government to take the lead as opposed to 50 states having their own stratgy. There are other things that are better left to the state governments, but this is not one of them. That's why Obama created the pandemic repsonse and monitoring teams, which were largely defunded under Trump. It's so sad that the Pandemic monitoring team in China left months before the pandemic started.

"Your state killed more people"? How so?

When Trump downplayed the severity of the virus and muzzled experts, that caused damage and harm. It created a culture that the Virus is really not that serious and we shouldn't be concerned about it. I don't have to play back all the soundbites where he led people into believing it's no worse than the cold or even the flu.

The data is real:

People in counties that voted Trump more likely to die from Covid – study

Areas that voted for Trump by at least 60% in November 2020 had 2.7 times the death rate than counties that voted heavily for Biden

All in all, people who voted for trump were nearly 3x more likely to die from Covid. Those aren't made up numbers. Those are real numbers.

Here's teh study:

Pro-Trump counties now have far higher COVID death rates : Shots - Health News : NPR

Rather than sayin "I don't believe this", imagine why you think this is? Trump counties had much lower vaccination rates and much lower adherence to masks etc.

This is even more alarming:

In October, the reddest tenth of the country saw death rates that were six times higher than the bluest tenth, according to Charles Gaba, an independent health care analyst who's been tracking partisanship trends during the pandemic and helped to review NPR's methodology. Those numbers have dropped slightly in recent weeks, Gaba says: "It's back down to around 5.5 times higher."

That's in the link I just sent you. The reddest tenth of the country had six times higher death rate than the bluest tenth. Someone even reviewed NPR's methodology to make sure they weren't cooking the numbers.

IT's true Old guy. This is one of many reasons I feel he failed as President.
