Change is the only constant in life. The Saudis may do as they please. They are a sovereign nation. They don't have to use US dollars, it's a matter of market efficiency.
The English pound was the de facto reserve currency for decades. The dollar converts to pound sterling at $1.30 per pound sterling, so your assertion that the dollar will be worthless if it isn't the world reserve currency is demonstrably wrong.
