As the holiday season arrives  

A time for all of us to remember what we are grateful for, what we have in our lives, rather than what we don't, and that despite our politics, we still live in the best country in the world with a republic that has lasted 235 years now - A very major feat given where other countries have gone. 

Even through thick and thin, we have managed to defend our democracy, to treasure it, to challenge it, and to truly understand what our founding fathers intended for us, so many years later.

All in all, it's alive and well and we move onward to a new year
