Did you give up on the idea that people moved for the sun shine!

Of course states that have large corporations have a high per capital income.  That in NO way reflects on how the average person is doing.

Let us look at the highest income state in your post, Connecticut and compare it to Idaho.

accoording to my research Connecticut cost of living is 21.2% higher than Idaho, but employers in CT typically pay 16.3 more than Idaho. Looks like you are only losing 5% living in CT.

Looking at the issue from a different direction, (value of $100.00) using your top income states from your post.

compared to Idaho,  In Idaho a$100 has the value Of $107.80

Connecticut---------$95.00

Massachuset---------s89.60

New York-------------s83.70

Wyoming-------------$107.20

This clearly show that any increase in income is wiped out by a higher cost of living.

Yes ! California is a good example, it does have a high GDP.  But that in no way indicates how well people are doing.  The value of $100.00 is only $83.00 and the cost of living is  staggering.  Why do you think they are moving out, are they are moving at a record pace.

I do not even start to believe that Idaho has a large number of homeless.  The number is approximately 1,000 and we have sufficient shelters, there are NO homeless camps.  But I will look into your claim.
