People should be released from jail and all charges dropped.
Whether the "democratic insurrection story" and the vioolent mob reaction is based on facts or fiction, criminal acts were committed, many have been convicted and more will be.
It fascinates me that you think the veracity of statements made that day have any effect on criminality is interesting. Not surprising, TrumpeRINO frog boys are a couple words from Trump to doing their very own Kristallnacht and ghettoes for their political/ethnic opponents.
I question if all the major news outlets that supported the Jan 6 insurection claims, should be sued.
Sued for what? Reporting events? Assigning political motivation to the rioters? Expressing, no- repeating the far right's insistence that disagreeing with Trumpism is treason and should be treated as such? That's why the January 6 mob turned nasty- they believed that elected representatives engaged in their Constitutional election duties must be stopped.
From the start of this, no haftway intelligent person could have believed this story, but people on the left did.
No halfway intelligent person could doubt the facts as presented in great abundance, before, after and during the riot.

Correct, It does illuminate the Trumpist insistence on their Dear Leader deserving and unconstitutional continuance in office despite the 2020 election's clear statement that the majority (which Trump never had) insisting on somebody else as POTUS. I suspect that anybody but Trump would have been elected- 2020 was a clear expression of America wishing to see the last of him.
The Donald's strongest popular ballot was 46.9% (2020) versus Biden's 51.3%. Trump got perpetual also ran Joe Biden elected, thank you very much.
