Easy peasy. FDR was much more persuasive than Biden or your Dear Leader, Donald J (the 'J' stands for 'jenius') Trump, and yet only 29% of Americans wanted to fight to stop Hitler's determination to rule the world with a 'master race'. Now that it's past tense and Americans know they're not sending their sons, brothers, fathers and they're not going either, then they get all militant.
Kinda like after one didn't risk being humiliated by the local bully you tell yourself you 'shoulda, woulda, coulda this, that or the other...' 62% after the fact is pure 'shoulda, woulda, coulda this, that or the other...' and means nothing.
Here's a question: where were the 62% in 2020? That's significantly more than Trump's share of the electorate- suddenly a third of Biden voters wasnt Trumpian actions? Biden and Trump are exactly the same as they were then, except now we know that Trump endorses political violence. |
