So, you're not in favor of investigating law enforcement abusing people?

“report abuse and mistreatment in immigration detention centers” and provide “a notification system for lawyers and others with a vested interest in immigration cases.” Sounds like a very worthy objective.

As to "... crime victims and their families who have been affected by crimes committed by” illegal aliens",  I believe that that is already within the jurisdiction of existing law enforcement agencies.

The article plays on the action of a criminal who was an illegal as thoough it were typical of all illegal immigrants. Was Stephen Paddock typical of ALL Americans? Or maybe just all Americans who own guns?

Here's a proposition: stop all immigration period. Would that stop all illegals? No- they are by definition not obeying immigration law.

Would that have stopped this criminal illegal? Maybe, and that's great big maybe, because if even one illegal got in, it might have been him.

Perhaps our immigration system is so fecked that most illegal immigrants entered legally and overstayed their visas. Our immigration system is so fecked that illegal immigrant workers are a necessary part of our economy.

Bigots assign traits to groups based on actions of individuals. You're a bigot.
