You really think Bernie got rich selling books, what a joke.
He only sold 26,000 copies, nobody puchased his books.
Just check about any web site and you could find out he didn't sell shit.

10% for 1st 5,000 copies sold, roughly that's $500.00
12.5% on all thereafter, roughly about $33,500.
A total of approximately $34,000.00.
That is about 1/4 of his $160,000.00 salary.
Not nothing to be sure, but nowhere near enough to fund 3 resort mansions, wouldn't you sat, lib?
Good job Goodlibs! |

Keep looking because he didn't sell enough books to make it pay. But nobody lost money on the deal, just money paid under the table.
How the hell do you think people like Bernie or even Hillary make millions. They are paid a retainer to write a book, paid for by people making money off there actions. There are even legal retainers paid to politicians who have never even written the book yet. |

Maybe you shouldn't make inaccurate assertions like: He only sold 26,000 co +1/-1

Maybe you shouldn't make inaccurate assertions like: "He only sold 26,000 copies, nobody puchased his books."
Your premise is false from the get-feckin' go. 220,000 copies sold, not a mere 26,00.
"How the hell do you think people like Bernie or even Hillary make millions. They are paid a retainer to write a book, paid for by people making money off there actions. There are even legal retainers paid to politicians who have never even written the book yet."
You a publisher? Then what do you know about the business, why a publisher would pay an advance for an unwritten book?
But, I guess you know more law than a sitting judge; and you know more about publishing books than MacMillan, Thomas Dunne Books, Verso Books, Seven Stories Press, Type Media Center, Henry Holt and Gale? I am truly astounded... at your empty hubris.

OK, I should have said for one of his books. But even his biggest book only sold about 200,000. Most first runs of any book prints about 250,000. He did not even make enough sales for a reprint.
Yes! I know a lot about the book business, I work with a guy that has 43 book stores.
