As a Biden lie, libz?

I would tend to think yes...

Nice try, Democrats. Every American citizen with an IQ above room temperature knew immediately that their “Republicans defunded the police” sleight-of-hand was an absurdity, a desperate falsehood in the face of mounting public opinion against their party’s anti-cop, pro-crime rhetoric. And yet they persisted. Even Joe Biden’s White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, tried to propagate the lie. Douglas Andrews

Alas, it was a bridge too far even for their Leftmedia lickspittles, and yesterday their ruse officially crashed and burned when the Washington Post’s “fact-checker” gave Psaki’s ridiculous claim three Pinocchios. We think she was straight-up robbed of the fourth, but, hey, it’s The Washington Post. How did all this happen? At a June 23 press briefing, Psaki tried to argue that because Republicans had voted against Joe Biden’s whopping $1.9 trillion “American Rescue Plan,” they were guilty of defunding the cops.

“That was voted into law by Democrats just a couple of months ago,” Psaki said. “Some might say that the other party was for defunding the police; I’ll let others say that, but that’s a piece.” Some might say, eh? Clearly, she knew she was on thin ice. It took a while, but as the Post’s Salvador Rizzo correctly noted Tuesday: “Although Republicans all opposed Biden’s coronavirus relief package, no one voted to cut, or defund, anything.

Rather, Democrats proposed $350 billion in emergency funds for state and local governments, and Republicans voted against those extra funds. That’s not a reduction.” Of course, the Democrats’ troubles began long before Psaki’s nose started growing. They were calling for the defunding of the police during last year’s Black Lives Matter riots.

Emblematic of their outbursts was this one from New York Congresswoman and “Squad” member Sandy, er, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “Defunding police means defunding police. It does not mean budget tricks or funny math.” That’s pretty unequivocal, no? And there was more — much, much more — as compiled by the folks at GOP.com.

It’s said that a fish rots from the head, and Joe Biden proved the point when he euphemistically called for “reallocating police resources.” Elsewhere, Vice President Kamala Harris said she “applauds” Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti for defunding his city’s police, and another time said, “We have to reimagine public safety.” Then there was South Carolina Congressman and House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, who compared federal law enforcement to the Gestapo, and later ignored looting and arson in the nation’s capital while claiming that the only violence he saw there was from police.

Finally, there was Minnesota Congresswoman and “Squad” member Ilhan Omar, who represents George Floyd’s still-smoldering Minneapolis district. “Not only do we need to disinvest in the police,” she declared, “but we need to completely dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department.” But, sure, it’s the Republicans who’ve been beating the drum to defund the cops, and it’s the Republicans who’re responsible for the nationwide surge in violence, and it’s the Republicans who’re to blame for the plummeting of police morale and the mass exodus of cops from the streets.

As the Post’s Rizzo gently concluded, “Voting against a one-time infusion of cash is not the same as voting to cut funding, so there is little basis to claim that Republicans are trying to ‘defund the police.’” Our Mark Alexander put the lie to this assertion earlier this month, but it bears repeating. And repeating. And repeating. Because not a single American voter should be left to believe it. The Democrats and their fellow leftists declared war on the cops. They own it, and they deserve to reap the whirlwind.

3 Pinocchios from a lib fact checker. If they were honest, it should have been 4, but who ever said libz are honest? Psaki lying, directed by Biden is a lie about a...

Does a lie by the then sitting president of the United States count? Yes, it cost him the election. Trump would have been reelected had he taken adequate public health measures to minimize the damage to America, Americans by the novel coronavirus: a 2.4% economic recession; which involved the highest unemployment rate since World War 2; the United States suffering 34,711,752 Coronavirus Cases and 622,715 deaths.

"We’re getting rid of this virus. That’s what we’re doing. That’s the best thing we can do. By the way, for the markets, for everything — it’s very simple, very simple solution. We want to get rid of it. We want to have very — as few deaths as possible. This is a horrible thing.”

— trong>Trump, in a task force briefing March 17, 2020.

What was actually happening?

Remember Trump wheezing his way through a speech telling Americans not to be afraid of Covid 19? Easy for somebody to say with Marine 1 on their lawn ready to whisk you to Walter Reed where he recieved the best care possible from a select, expert staff. Point of information- if one was so seriously infected that a ventilator was necessary, you were very sick- only about 1 in 3 ventilated patients ever come off the ventilator.

TOPLINE

Former President Donald Trump's coronavirus infection back in October was far worse than the president and his aides said, according to The New York Times, which reported officials were worried Trump's condition was so bad before he left the White House that he might have needed a ventilator while hospitalized.

KEY FACTS

CNN also reported Thursday there were concerns about Trump possibly needing to go on a ventilator, while the Times—citing four people with knowledge of his condition—said Trump's blood oxygen level was dangerously low and he had a lung complication related to pneumonia called lung infiltrates.

According to the National Institutes of Health, that issue is related to a “hyper-inflammation phase” that usually occurs during the late stages of a Covid-19 infection.

Questions have long swirled about >how serious Trump's condition may have been, even as the former president and his aides, including former White House Physician Dr. Sean Conley, continually downplayed the impact.

Trump has said that when he was transported to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center he "wasn't feeling so well," and officials at the time said Trump had a fever and breathing problems.

But little had been publicly known beyond that, and Conley only revealed Trump was given supplemental oxygen at the White House after news reports surfaced.

Representatives at what Trump has dubbed "the Office of the Former President" declined a request for comment.

SURPRISING FACT

There had been clues Trump's condition was worse than what had been publicized. He claimed at an NBC town hall on Oct. 15 that doctors told him his "lungs are a little bit different" during his hospitalization, without providing further details on what that meant. In a notable incident while he was hospitalized, former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows suggested Trump's condition was "very concerning," which reportedly infuriated the former president.

KEY BACKGROUND

Trump announced in an early morning tweet on Oct. 2 that he and former First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive for Covid, which came as part of a large White House outbreak. His condition apparently deteriorated quickly, leading to him reluctantly agree to be hospitalized later in the day. Trump spent the weekend in the hospital, where he received a treatment consisting of Remdesivir, the steroid dexamethasone and a then-unapproved experimental antibody cocktail from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. The aggressive treatment regimen was an early indicator Trump's infection had become severe. Trump was released from the hospital the evening of Oct. 5, filming a video as he returned to the White House where he ripped off his mask and saluted his departing helicopter.

TANGENT

After he returned from his hospitalization, Trump tweeted a video where he said "don't be afraid of Covid," and "don't let it dominate you," after his normally rampant tweeting notably declined while he was hospitalized. Trump's apparently severe Covid infection seemed to do little to impact the former president's precautions, or lack thereof, when it came to preventing Covid spread—he regularly packed thousands of mostly maskless supporters into rallies across the country leading up to Election Day.
