Luckily, he and his girlfriend are both fully vaccinated, she's an RN at their local hospital. They don't know who had it first, he just returned from a trip but she has a lot of potential exposure. So far they are both asymptomatic and quarantining in their home.

I also have a sister who had a "breakthrough" case, she is only one year younger than I and she said she felt like she had the flue for three days and then a bad cold for three days along with temporarily losing all sense of taste. 

The vaccine is like a bullet proof vest, and taken for the same reasons...

Your sister, son, and his girlfriend fall into the 98-99 percentile of outcomes regarding exposure to Covid-- with or without the vaccination. You have no way of knowing wheither they would have died - ending up on a vent.

That said my brothers friend (of 52 years ) died recently of Covid / Ventilator.
He had a mild case of Covid last year recovered fine -- his wife and kid did too, then this year they all got it again. (Delta?)

 Wife and kid were fine, mild symptoms. Dad got more sick, sent him to hospital, and Covid "protocols" did the rest. 
None of them were vaccinated.

So what can we conclude?

Without a control group you can't say he had natural immunity- second time was a mutated virus probably vaccines don't stop breakthrough cases for this reason.

That said, the other  unvaxed family members were fine in both cases. Would a vax have made a difference for them? 

One thing is certain, vaccinations ARE causing adverse reactions. I've heard up to 3% of the time, which probably has to do with underlying conditions that aren't fully known.

So, if you take the shot you MAY be safer from Covid for an unspecified time. If you don't take the shot  you may also be immune if you survive, you may have mild or a symptomatic symptoms, and  you may not be immune in the future from a different strain of the virus, in either case.

If the long-term effects aren't known (from Covid or the vax) it's impossibe to say it's a "good thing to be vaxed."

You have about the same chances either way, ( 2-3 percent mortality)  There  are treatments for Covid patients that dont involve a ventilator. These are being suppressed-- why? Most  people die on the vent, and a vent can't help the depleted hemoglobin used to carry oxygen. It's like sewing your Libs shut and  dying of dehydration while someone pours water over your face!

And don't tell me your experts know better! My experts tell me they won't get it. They won't go to a hospital either, and subject themselves to a ventilator protocol.
