Msg ID: 2711434 Will Trump Help or Hurt the 2024 election by running? +2/-1

Democrats are hoping he runs. Trump supporters are hoping he runs. Who is more 'in the know'?

I personally think he splinters the party. More qualified people who can easily beat Biden.

First we need to get thru the mid-terms before the  presidential election even matters.

I believe the left will become crushed at the midterms.  People are upset over the far left Marxist agenda.  Hopefully once the left loses badly, they rethink there positions and move back towards the center.

What makes you think Biden will even run, I don't think he will even be around by then.

Yes! there are many on the right that will make a great president, Including Trump.

Because the majority of Americans are somewhere near the center, those a little left of it are generally Democrats, those a little right of it are generally Republicans.

The rest of the people are the Extremists, on the left you have the Socialists and on the right you have the trumplicans. Neither of these paths are the future of America if we are going to be a great country. I agree with you that the mid-terms will probably be brutal on the Democrats because the majority see people pushing them too far left. But that said, that's also the reason the majority kicked trump to the curb, he was seen as pushing the country too far right.

We could accomplish so much more as a country if we would exclude the Extremists on both sides from the process.

Biden and trump both are way too old to be POTUS, when the next Presidential election comes around Biden will be over 80 and trump will be pushing 80, they are too damn old. The Constitution says that a person must be at least 35 years of age to be POTUS, it should also say that a person may not be the POTUS beyond the age of 68. You can be assured that I have nothing against old people, because I am one.

It's way too early to predict anything on the next Presidential election, there's so many things that could happen between then and now that could change the trajectory of that election. But I sincerely hope that when we do get there, a candidate will emerge that's a true moderate, I don't even really care if that means Democrat or Republican party affiliation...

Most American voters consider themselves independents, casting their ballots for the best choice Republican of Democrat. I wouldn't call branch of the left-right spectrum 'extremists' except that those attempting to motivate their base will use extreme phrases, demonizing their political opponents.
The Democrats drive voters away with unsalable socialist proposals, ignoring American cultural disinclination to relying of others and/or naked Bernie Sanders socialism. History proves that that fails time after time, even with the worlds largest proven reserve of oil- Venezuela.
On the other hand, extreme rightist nationalism historically doesn't work, either. It fails economically, politically and culturally. Every market for everything evolves, changes an adapts over time- if it doesn't, it suffocates.

We need more political parties so that principles and ideas can invovle, motivat citizens to participate and vote. Personal example- I haven't admired, respected and hoped that a potential major party candidate success since Paul Rand and/or John McCain. Neither of which was, in the end, the person I expected.

We must not exclude the extremists! We must engage in dialogue, discover and apply what is useful in each political philosophy.

And that's exactly why Americans will take back this country.

Virginia was the start of it.

The mid-terms will be a huge step towards regaining democracy once again
