Dietrich Bonhoeffer was imprisoned by Nazi Libs for his offosition to Nazi oppression, racism, eugenic programs and Hitler worship-- in fact he participated in the failed plot to assasinate Hitler. 

As a Luthran Minister from Germany from Bonhoeffer was living in England when the Nazi Libs came to power. He made a visit to the USA where he was confronted and moved by the faith and spirituality of the American Black churches, and saw in contrast how evil Hitlers eugenics really were. 
He returned to England and informed his friends there he was returning to Germany to oppose Hitler. They pleaded with him to wait out the war in England where he could remain safe.

Bonhoeffer replied: "If I do not now suffer for the liberation of my country and countrymen, I should have no part of their eventual victory over evil. This I must do In service of God, not man."

And so Bonhoeffer returned, was implicated in the plot, and sent to Flossenberg where , only three days before the camp was liberated by the Allies, the Nazi Libs hung Dietrich by (piano wire) for his "crimes" against the STUPID Nazi state.

( Fortumately Kyle Rittenhower faired a bit better, for now at least)
