NAIROBI — South Africa’s huge wave of omicron cases appears to be subsiding just as quickly as it grew in the weeks after the country first announced to the world that a new coronavirus variant had been identified.

South Africa’s top infectious-disease scientist, who has been leading the country’s pandemic response, said Wednesday that the country had rapidly passed the peak of new omicron cases and, judging by preliminary evidence, he expected “every other country, or almost every other, to follow the same trajectory.”

That certainly follows history.

The strains that follow get weaker and less threatening.

This omni crayon may have been extremely contagious but seems to have symptoms of a mild cold.

This is good news but not unexpected.

I'm sure Fauci and Biden will spin this to his benefit and take full credit for the remission of this Chinese flu.

Whatever they say is fine with me as long as this nightmare is behind us.

What should happen is that Biden should address the American people and tell them not to panic in regards to this omni crayon strain.

They've already put people in a panic about testing facilities.

This madness must stop
