Msg ID: 2716378 The data, all over world, keeps saying the same thing - Vax works +1/-0

The data in New Jersey is similar to the rest of the world. Vaccinations are 99.5% effective in preventing severe covid / hospitalizations. Gang, the evidence across multiple countries and mulitple studies are showing the same thing. Vaccinations prevent 97-99.5% of hispitalizations and death compared to unvaccainted people. The evidence is overwhelming.

The ONS (Office for National Statistics) posted an article on vaccinated vs unvaccinated deaths of individuals, the information breakdown: Data accumulated between 2 January and 2 July 2021, in England, there were 51,281 deaths involving Covid-19. 640 occurred in people who were fully vaccinated, including people who had been infected before they were vaccinated. 256 were “breakthrough deaths” i.e. occurred in someone who had received both vaccine doses and had a first positive PCR test at least 14 days after the second vaccination dose. 99.5% of deaths were unvaccinated. (Source: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/articles/deathsinvolvingcovid19byvaccinationstatusengland/deathsoccurringbetween2januaryand2july2021)

And here's another study

An analysis of UK Data from SAGE and NIMS between December 2020 and July 2021, out of 40,000 patients with Covid-19 who were hospitalised showed us that 33,496 patients (84%) WASN’T vaccinated, 5198 patients (13%) had one dose of a vaccine and 1274 patients (3%) were fully vaccinated. 611 patients who had reinfection of Covid-19 were excluded from the analysis.

➡ Conclusion
As we can see from the evidence-based information above, unvaccinated are at higher risk of hospitalising and death compared to those who are partially or fully vaccinated, the data come from two countries being the UK and USA, the same aspect is being seen in other countries too such as Canada as another example. This article is proof that vaccination can and will protect you, it’s definitely a recommendation to go out there and get your vaccination/boosters sorted out.

Obsy did a vew things.

First, he made a comparison between flight safety and vax. He drew some strange anology that he would never get on an airplane that only had a 99% chance of getting there. So, by his logic, he's saying that if somoenthing is not about 100%, it's not worth it.

Life is about mitigating and understanding risk.

If you can reduce your risk of death and hospitalizaiton by 99+%, Obsy either doesnt thing it's worth it or he said he doesn't believe teh data.

He hasn't explained why he doesnt believe it nor does he provide any evidence that proves otherwise.

Study after study after study say the same thing. Your chance of severe illness with a vaccine is drastically reduced.

When you get a polio shot you can be sure you have a 99% chance you will never get polio.

When your get a COVID shot, you still can get COVID, and can still pass it on to others.

The COVID vaccine does not work from the point that you will now not get COVID, once vaccinated!

Polio vaccination inviolves 'breakthroough infections' at a comparable rate to the Covid-19 vaccination.

Vaccine Effectiveness

Two doses of inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) are 90% effective or more against polio; three doses are 99% to 100% effective.

Versus Covid vaccine:

RESULTS

Of the 29,949 participants who underwent randomization between December 27, 2020, and February 18, 2021, a total of 29,582 (median age, 47 years; 12.6% ≥65 years of age) received at least one dose: 19,714 received vaccine and 9868 placebo. Over a period of 3 months, 77 cases of Covid-19 were noted — 14 among vaccine recipients and 63 among placebo recipients (vaccine efficacy, 90.4%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 82.9 to 94.6; P<0.001). Ten moderate and 4 severe cases occurred, all in placebo recipients, yielding vaccine efficacy against moderate-to-severe disease of 100% (95% CI, 87.0 to 100). Most sequenced viral genomes (48 of 61, 79%) were variants of concern or interest — largely B.1.1.7 (alpha) (31 of the 35 genomes for variants of concern, 89%). Vaccine efficacy against any variant of concern or interest was 92.6% (95% CI, 83.6 to 96.7).

Unfortunatley, the way some people can rationalize an argument is by applying a cognitive distortion to their wa of thinking, and hence, argument.

They suffer from:

1. All-or-nothing thinking - You see things in black-or-white categories. If a situation falls short of perfect, you see it as a total failure. When a young woman on a diet ate a spoonful of ice cream, she told herself, "I've blown my diet completely." This thought upset her so much that she gobbled down an entire quart of ice cream

And yet he doesn't cite the source of his information. Divine revelation?

I repeat, with sources cited:

Okay, so you don't really understand the science of vaccines...that's okay.

Maybe we need to educate you a little

Again, your articles are riddled with cognitive distortions. A vaccine is not an ALL OR NOTHING phenomena

Let's use your argument...

Flu Vaccine ...

Does it precent all flus?

No - You know that ... I know that ... So, what's your excuse now?

"Stop the bullshit Old Guy"

You are completely missing the point ...

No vaccine is 100% effective

Your logic is flawed...It's a cognitive distortion called binary thinking or all or nothing thinking

The vaccine dramatically lowers your chance of getting covid Pre-Omicron

The vaccine drastically lowers your chance of death and hospitalization and long-term complications

If you don't see the benefits to that, please explain why you feel that way.

Is it NOT a benefit to prevent hospitalization or death?

This vaccine does not stop you from getting sick like the other vaccines do. It does cover that objective.

It only helps once you get COVID,  end of story, it does not completely work!

Where do you come up with these ridiculous ideas? "It's not a vaccine if it doesnt' stop all illness"

Please share with us scientific literatre which states a vaccine is supposed to "prevent any and all illness"

Your arguments are just so incredibly riddled with distortions and false assumptions

Who ever said a vaccine is supposed to 100% prevent a disease? NO ONE

Flu Vaccine - works 20-60% of the times depending on the year

Prior to Omicron, it was highly effective in

1. Preventing any covid infection (Up to 95% effective)

Now, it is hihgly effective in preventing serious illness and death

Measles Vaccine is only 93% effective

The list goes on

How do you make up these arguments anyway? Is it something you are reading in a right-wing rag or are you just making it up as you type? It's quite creative

You know damn good and well I was talking about Covid vaccine stopping Covid.  As far as Iam concerned your thinking it would be for all illness, shows your lackof resonanle discussion.

By the way, I do not get Flu shots, they have a horrible rate of success, but at least they will stop the flu sometimes.  No like a Covid shot that never stops Covid.

VACCINE:

a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease.

Flu Shot - Flu Vaccine - Does not stop all flu strains

Should we not call it a vaccine either, according to your definition?
