Trump revered and idolized Putin. He wanted, desperately, to be like putin, to act like him, and to have the approval of him. Trump will not and has never criticized Putin as he would be criticizing his idol.

People like Pooty and Obsy don't see that: The brain matter between their ears is devoid of sufficient sensory density to understand and realize that connection. They are incapable of seeing how flawed their savior is.

Pooty still believes the world is flat (even though he's a pilot), and believes in Pizza gate, and believes trump is sane.

God help him

Trump calls Putin 'genius' and 'savvy' for Ukraine invasion

The former president's praise for Putin comes at a perilous geopolitical moment in Europe.

Trump calls Putin’s strategy ‘genius’

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday described Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine as “genius” and “savvy,” praising his onetime counterpart for a move that has spurred sanctions and universal condemnation from the U.S. government and its trans-Atlantic allies.

“I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, ‘This is genius.’ Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful,” Trump said in a radio interview with “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.” “He used the word ‘independent’ and ‘we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.’ You gotta say that’s pretty savvy.”

Trump’s praise for the Russian president comes at a perilous geopolitical moment in Europe, where the Kremlin has amassed thousands of troops along the Ukrainian border. Already, Russian troops have invaded breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine that the Kremlin recognized as autonomous earlier this week. That recognition, as well as the subsequent invasion by Russian forces, prompted the U.S. and its allies in Europe to impose what President Joe Biden called “the first tranche” of sanctions against Moscow.

The comments from Trump also fit into a personal pattern of relatively warm rhetoric for Putin, especially compared to the abrasive approach that the former U.S. president employed in dealings with NATO and other U.S. allies. Trump repeatedly refused to accept the conclusion of the U.S. intelligence community that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election, at one point telling reporters at a joint press conference with Putin that he had accepted the Russian president’s assurance that the Kremlin had not been involved.

Trump’s 2016 campaign and its alleged ties to Russian interference efforts in that year’s presidential election were the subject of an investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, a probe that Trump routinely derided as a “witch hunt.” Mueller’s report described numerous contacts between Trump’s campaign and agents or allies of the Russian government, including solicitations for assistance, but said the evidence was insufficient to conclude that Trump or his team coordinated with or conspired to support the Kremlin’s election interference effort.

Trump has long claimed that Mueller’s report exonerated him and his campaign, but Mueller, in remarks to the press about his report, emphasized that his team had not cleared Trump of wrongdoing and that “if we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so.” And Mueller repeatedly emphasized that his investigators were unable to access key sources of evidence and were inhibited by false testimony — some of which led to criminal charges, including against longtime Trump ally Roger Stone, who was ultimately pardoned by Trump just before facing jail time.

Trump, in his Tuesday radio interview, played up his relationship with Putin and said “I think nobody probably knows him better in terms of the discussions that we have or that we’re having this morning.”

“I knew that he always wanted Ukraine. I used to talk to him about it. I said, ‘You can’t do it. You’re not gonna do it.’ But I could see that he wanted it,” Trump said. “I knew Putin very well. I got along with him great. He liked me. I liked him. I mean, you know, he’s a tough cookie, got a lot of the great charm and a lot of pride. But the way he — and he loves his country, you know? He loves his country. He’s acting a little differently, I think now.”

Kyle Cheney contributed to this report.

You know, everybody knows Trump is a thief, a liar and a cheat.

Sincerely, how many sources do you need to authenticate Trump's words praising Putin?

This is entirely in line with a rapist's opinion that whatever you can do with force is a "great negotiation".

Trump once again praises authoritarian leaders, calling Putin's soldiers on the border of Ukraine 'a great negotiation'

    • Former President Donald Trump praised Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-Un, and Vladimir Putin in a campaign event.
    • Trump called Putin's decision to put troops on the border of Ukraine "a great negotiation."
    • Trump has a pattern of praising authoritarian leaders from around the world.

At a campaign rally in Georgia on Saturday, former President Donald Trump once again praised Vladimir Putin's intelligence, calling the Russian president's decision to place troops on the border of Ukraine "a great negotiation."

"The smartest one gets to the top. That didn't work so well recently in our country," Trump said during the rally. "But they ask me, 'Is Putin smart?' Yes, Putin was smart. And I actually thought he was going to be negotiating. I said, 'That's a hell of a way to negotiate, put 200,000 soldiers on the border.'"

Trump added that "certain things" "should never have happened" and alluded to the idea that the invasion of Ukraine would not have happened if he were in office.

"I think [Putin] made a big mistake, what he's done to so many people, but that was a big mistake," Trump said. "But it looked like a great negotiation."

During his remarks, Trump called Putin's attack on Ukraine "heinous attacks on a proud and sovereign nation," then praised authoritarian leaders Kim Jong-Un, Xi Jinping, and Putin for their intelligence.

The campaign event Trump spoke at was in support of former pro football star running back Herschel Walker, who is running in the GOP Senate primary in Georgia, and former Sen. David Perdue, a primary challenger to Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.

LEFT-CENTER BIAS

These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias.  They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by appeals to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes.  These sources are generally trustworthy for information but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

  • Overall, we rate Politico Left-Center biased based on story selection and editorial positions that slightly favor the left. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact check record.

History

Founded in 2007 by two former Washington Post Journalists, John F. Harris, and Jim VandeHei, Politico is a news and opinion website based in Virginia, USA. Currently, Matthew Kaminski is the editor-in-chief. In 2016, Jim VandeHei left Politico and is now the co-founder and CEO of Axios. They describe their vision as “Politico strives to be the dominant source for politics and policy in power centers across every continent where access to reliable information, non-partisan journalism, and real-time tools creates, informs and engages a global citizenry.” It distributes content via the internet, the Politico newspaper, radio, and podcasts. In Washington, D.C., its coverage includes the U.S. Congress, lobbying, media, and the presidency. They also have their own bi-monthly magazine that covers politics, news, and opinions.

On 8/26/2021 German publisher, Axel Springer purchased Politico for a reported 1 billion dollars.  Axel Springer owns numerous publications include BildBusiness Insider, and Fakt. Politico has a subscription-based service called Politico Pro, launched in 2010 for professionals, such as lobbyists and analysts, which provides policy intelligence coverage on technology, energy, and other sectors. Politico.com does not require a subscription and their print newspaper is available for free in locations throughout Washington D.C., however outside of DC, and overseas it is subject to a subscription fee. Both the website and print editions feature advertising.

Analysis / Bias

Both sides of the political spectrum have accused Politico of either having a left or right bias. For example, Media Matters for America, a progressive media watchdog group in Washington, has accused them of having a “Republican tilt.” Politico also published an article criticizing Obama for not being a strong supporter of Israel: “Obama’s Jewish Problem.” In another article, they state that Liberals are not as tolerant as they say they are: “Why Liberals Aren’t as Tolerant as They Think.” Further, an article criticizing Democratic Socialism: “Down Goes Socialism,” and another criticizing Bernie Sanders, “Bernie’s army in disarray.” Lastly, according to the Poynter Institute, Politico is balanced.

The right-leaning Daily Caller had also criticized Politico for having a liberal bias when they compared a New York Times headline to Politico’s Playbook headline by claiming that it “Extended further to the left than the NYT on this headline.”

A 2014 Pew Research Survey found that 59% of Politico’s audience is consistently or mostly liberal, 16% Mixed, and 26% consistently or mostly conservative. This indicates that a more liberal audience prefers politico.

In review, Politico occasionally publishes listicles such as “All of Trump’s Russia Ties, in 7 Charts.” They also publish articles with minimally loaded words such as “Ocasio-Cortez warns Trump Jr. about subpoena power in response to the meme” and the source to credible media outlets such as Reuters and the NY Times. However, they sometimes use emotional headlines: Establishment looks to crush liberals on Medicare for All. They also have a content partnership with the South China Morning Post, which we rate Mixed for factual reporting.

Editorially, they provide a balance of opinions in the past, as evidenced by the criticism they have received from both sides. However, since our last review, many more op-eds and news stories favor the left through story selection, and wording such as this Republicans gripped by dread as multiple crises swirl, and this Trump official pressured CDC to change report on Covid and kids. They generally report news factually and recently with a more left-leaning bias in both story selection and editorial positions.

Overall, we rate Politico Left-Center biased based on story selection and editorial positions that slightly favor the left. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact check record. (5/18/2016) Updated (M. Huitsing 8/26/2021)

He has no defining personal or political moral principles.

He's demonstrably a liar, a thief, a cheat and abuses women with sexual aggression, rape. His first wife made that public.

Trump praised Putin (it's on record) and then criticised him for the 'mistake' of invading Ukraine.

Trump is on every side of every issue when it profits him.
