For some stupid reason conservatives want to hide the truth from children, which is the exact opposite of what they should be doing. 

Teach children the truth, there are Heterosexual, Gay, and Transgendered people in the world, respect them all, people are just different.

They are just kids! At that age my kid thought he was Spider-Man.  Let them be kids!

Common sense says that kids should learn about their surroundings and what it means; just hide the truth from them forever and we'll continue to have more Matthew Shepard incidents. You're okay with that?

The law only restricts the schools from teaching about sexual orientation and gender issues for kindergarten to 3rd grade.  Do you want your children that young getting those kind of lessons.  If you believe kids that young should be learning such stuff, then you are sick!  

These children are in many cases already being indoctrinated with hate in their homes. Especially in the red states there are huge amounts of children being raised in racist and/or homophobic homes.

It's very important for children to be taught that this is unacceptable behavior, all people should be treated with respect. Recognize and accept that people are different and that's just fine.

I don't know how your children were raised Old Dude, but when you read posts from the likes of Obsy and Sharky you know that the children raised in those homes were not taught about acceptance and tolerance. In fact they were probably exposed to racist and homophobic rants and name calling by their parents and others.

As a society we must tamp down hate, not encourage it. I in no way support teaching young children about sexual acts, but I do support teaching them that all people are God's children and deserve respect. It's the responsibility of our educators to to teach children that in some cases their parents are simply wrong about these issues. Little Johnny's parents may be ranting racists and/or homophobics, but if they are they are wrong, and someone has to tell little Johnny that...
