MAGA candidates fail to oust mainstream Republicans in House primaries – including South Dakota Senator John Thune who ex-president declared his career 'over': GOP Rep. who voted to impeach Trump also on track to win
- Former President Donald Trump's touch didn't extend fully into blue states in a trio of Congressional primaries Tuesday
- In New Jersey, Republican voters went against more Trumpian impulses and selected Thomas Kean Jr. to take on embattled Democratic Rep. Tom Malinowski
- In California, Reps. Young Kim and David Valadao are set to survive threats from the right to earn a spot on the November ticket against Democrats
- Valadao holds a slight advantage in his races but it is still too close to call
- Valadao was one of 10 House Republicans to vote for former President Donald Trump's second impeachment, which his primary opponent used against him

Trump's endorsement is a positive in many places.
But The Donald was very careful in selecting candidates that were likely to win their races for him to endorse. |
