Question for the forum:

Are LGBTQ+ persons actual 'people with unalienable rights'?

If not, why not?

My guess is you have found some long fake article that tells just how bad they have it.

But the truth is that LGBTQ community in the states is the most socially, culturally and legally protected ground any where in the world.

They have every right afforded to every American (and by default, every human while they are in the USA) in the Constitution.

The real question you should be asking is "Should they be given special rights?"

The question is are the rights afforded to a minority class "special" or "equal"

LGBTQ+ could not even disclose their sexual identity in the military up until don't ask don't tell. Then, after that, they were able to.

Whether you are LGBTQ+ or not, one has to believe that this does damage to a person...that they are not allowed to live their real authentic lives and have to "hide it".

Prior to don't ask don't tell, they would be booted from the military.

After that, they were allowed to be, but they just couldn't talk about it.

Backup a few years ... Hate crimes against gays. Laramie, Wymond. Matthew Shepard. Just a small glimpse into history about how hatred towards LGBTQ+ was (and I argue still is, to a lesser degree) real.

One could also argue that there is hatred in other groups to include Black, Asian, Dems, Republicans, Female, Trans, etc .... Which groups need protection and why?

NO LAW sound be passed that gives any one a advantage over others.

No LAW should be passed that changes the outcome from life's choices.

All laws should be equal and produce a equal opportunity for all.

I even disagree with hate crime laws.  If the crime comes under a legal law, then that law should be applied equally in every case.

There should not be any special rights, I believe special rights go against the equal causes in the constitution.

But the left does not pay any attention to what the constitution says.  Just a bunch of useful idiots.

Except when the crime is based on hatred of a group, bigotry. If the crime is committed because the victim is 'x' and not y or z, and the motivation is that the victim is 'x', that's not an ordinary criminal act. For instance- rape is a 'hate crime' specifically victimizing women. Rape is not an ordinary act of sex, it is a violent act of power over the woman because she is a woman and generally not as physically powerful. Plus, the rapist can create the opportunity.

Eldridge Cleaver, serial rapist, explained his rapes as specifically an exercise of power and victimisation of women.

An advantage over others? Perhaps certain groups need protection so they can even survive?

You think being gay is a choice? Is being straight a choice? Is being black or white a choice?

So, when slavery ended, were blacks equal to whites right away? Were they able to move into their own houses and apartments and provide for their families after how many years?

You seem to only care about things that affect you directly. If it has no effect on you, you don't want anything to do with it.

What "special rights" are LGBTQ+ persons given? None. Individual, unalienable rights are of the individual itself, protection against cultural whims.

See Obergefell v. Hodges

  • Ruling: Marriage is a fundamental right. State bans on same-sex marriage violate the Fourteenth Amendment Due Process Clause and the Equal Protection Clause

Obergefell v. Hodges (2015) which officially overturned remaining state laws that banned same-sex marriage. In ruling that marriage is a fundamental right and extending equal protection to same-sex couples, the Supreme Court created a formal obligation for states to respect the institution of marriage as a voluntary union.
