Republicans failed to vote for the speaker of the house - Kevin McCarthy failed as the entire Republican party is a mess.

They are so fixated on the bidens and in-fighting -- 

It's comedic to see what following Trump did to all these people. They sold their souls to the devil and wound up where they are right now.

That chaos is Trump a Trump creation. Trump thrives in chaos and confusion. If nobody is certain of what is going on and why, any organization seems a good thing. That's how the NDSP, the Bolsheviks, both gained political power. The Trumpers will not compromise and the Trump opponents will not bend to Trump's or Trumpist bidding. 

The Donald doesn't6 care about Republicans, conservatives or America. He will destroy it all if he can't get his way. He's burning "The Republican house down" rather than lose it.

I firmly believed he would create his own party when Republicans tried to move on. I was wrong- there will be a third party and it might already be in existence- the 'Forward Party'. Although it is not partisan, I can see becoming so out of necessity.

What you are seeing is democracy at work, not just a bunch of sheep falling in line.

Gingrich has this right.

"if you want to be an independent, free-thing person, who has to get up and argue your case, you ought to be Republican.  If you want to be part of a group that does all you're told by your boss you ought to be a democrat.

What you are seeing is the death of Populism - 

Trump - GONE

Balsaenro - GONE

Boris Johnson - GONE

You are seeing a party who should have convicted Trump in the senate and did not ... And now they are fractured because they are more worried about vengeance than governing. 

This is not Democracy at work. This is an example of what happens when people fail to follow their oath and their conscience... SO yes, Democracy at work as the people who shouldn't be governing don't get the chance to

These are members that are individuals supporting things they ran on!  Willing to stand up.  This is democratic in action, it is messy.  Are you aware in our history these debates were common place.  Once it took 2 months to elect the speaker.  Nancy came along and made rules, allowing her totally control.  This eliminated debate, and policies from individuals, without Nancy things did not happen.

Example of Nancy rules; She picked every member of each committee, if you did not follow Nancy you did not get picked.  The Nancy rule is now under debate, what republicans want is the speaker selects the committee chair and that chair picks the members.

I can remember multiple democrats running for office, ran on the platform that they would not support Nancy for speaker.  Elected, that changed, Nany with total control put them in the sheep line, end of individual thoughts.  They are all forced to do what told.

This is what happens when free people follow their oath and promises to the voters.

Trump is a insnifficant part of this debate, no reason to bring him up.  But then in your mind  it's Trump- Trump.

The republicans are a disaster. In over 150 years this hasn't happened.
