If aircraft aren't "Bianary" Why does my ATP distinguish my type ratings "by catagory"
The obscure workings in the minds of bureacrats. I don't know many categories of aircraft exist according to the FAA.
AW609 Certification Basis is established by FAA under the provisions of Part 21.17(b) for "Special Class Aircraft" along with a portion of Part 25 (fixed-wing aircraft) and 29 (helicopter) and new specific tiltrotor parts in a new category called "powered lift".
Maybe getting type rated in an AW 609 will teach you the differences?
I can hover any airplane with a strong enough headwind!!
Especially ultralights and gyrocopters. Does that make them helicopters?
If the wind is strong enough any airplane can fly backwards. Does that make it a helicopter or is it a powered lift aircraft?
Can you do that without that wind? A helicopter or powered lift can, not to mention the partially lighter air ships used in logging somehwile back.
Come on, Pooty give the mill some grist here. I know Trumplicans are limited intellects, generally.
